Dominica - The Nature Island

This is where we are going.  It is the island of Dominica, in the West Indies.  It is just above Martinique and St. Lucia.  It is a volcanic island that is 289 square miles that is 2/3 covered with rainforrests. It has some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the Caribbean.
Jealous yet??? Just kidding..... kinda.....

If you want a "different" Caribbean vacation, the tiny nature island of Dominica is the perfect spot. Dominica offers few beaches, no tourist crowds, and has no large resorts. What Dominica does offer is nature at its best. Tropical rainforests abound, and this tiny island has 365 rivers with hundreds of beautiful waterfalls. The island also boasts a boiling volcanic lake, and much of the land on the island has remained untouched and preserved. This is the nature island of the Caribbean, and the people of Dominica are very serious about keeping their island clean, and free from over development.Dominica is home to the only existing Carib Indians who are the indigenous people of the Caribbean islands. The island is also home to three national parks, and the Caribbean's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This is Scott's Head on the south side of the island.  Absolutely beautiful. Pirates of the Caribbean (parts 1 and 2) were filmed in Dominica and you may recognize the beach below.  It is Batibou Beach and it is where the Black Pearl lay beached on its side in the beginning of the second movie.

We are currently looking for housing and are packing like mad.....
More to come soon

We're moving where??!!

The past 6 weeks have been a storm of emotions and have required difficult decisions, but we are moving back to the island of Dominica in the Caribbean. We gotta be a little nutty to even consider it, but we know that this is where we need to be right now. God closed some doors only to open an amazing window and we have a peace about our decision to move back to the island. Warren will be teaching at Ross University & I will be a stay at home mom. Grace & Ayden are excited and we are loIking forward to being four island coconuts!
